The family brewery and adjoining restaurant, U Tesařů serves mainly a pale lager. The most typical Czech lager is brewed according to traditional recipes exclusively from Czech ingredients. Their specials earn medals. The brewer and owner is the same man, and you can watch him at work – from the pub located directly in the brewery.

The Tesař family is proof that even in a crowded tourist area, more demanding crafts can succeed. Beer fresh and hefty, properly treated. I was very impressed by the top-fermented ten-degree Sun Ale.

Tips for nearby activities
From the U Tesařů it is a short walk to the Bítov castle, but instead of the typical climb you have to go down the massive hill. You can leave the car up the hill at the lookout tower and restaurant with a giant raven statue. Do you like romantic ruins? With a beautiful walk through the forest, it is only 5 km to Cornštejn. The large ruin still has its tenants today – wintering bats!
When there is good weather, we can offer swimming by Vranov beach. And if you appreciate beautiful machines, we recommend the Lesná Motorcycle Museum, which is nearby.
